Born in Huntingdon on the border between Oxfordshire & Cambridgeshire in southern England in 1965 Douglas moved at the age of 5 with his parents to Cornwall. I am a traditionally trained artist/illustrator with almost 40 years of analogue & digital experience in industry & advertising. I specialized at college in Technical Illustration, building skills using an airbrush, painting & pen & ink techniques to illustrate cutaways of technical subjects such as cars, aircraft, engines etc in colour & parts manuals in B&W. After 15 years, partly as a freelancer I moved into the digital era using various 2D & 3D Apps, mainly Photoshop, Illustrator and Maxon’s Cinema 4D.

Today 40 years on, I have understood that my best days as a digital artist have long expired thanks to short lived trend orientated technology advances & in recent years the advance of AI everything. In the remaining years that I have I would like to leave the software driven creative world behind me and enjoy what I set out to be at the beginning, an artist, a hand worker, a master of few needed tools to create something with value and most of all enjoying the experience.
